Kirsten Marie
Larsen Pruhs 1920 ~ 2004 "Our Little Angel" "Grandma to Many" Kirsten was
born in Drammen, Norway on June 15, 1920 to Lars Kristian Larsen and Andrea
Marie Waal. She returned to her Father in Heaven on January 17, 2004, due to
a stroke. She immigrated to the United States in 1948, living in Hyrum, Utah
as a nanny for Dr. Paul Burgess and his three young boys. She returned to
Norway in 1950 to serve a mission for the LDS church. While on her mission
she met her eternal companion Jacques F. Pruhs. They were married in the
Logan Temple on September 15, 1952. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage.
Kirsten had a deep faith in her religion. She served numerous church
callings in the Primary, Young Women's and Relief Society. She served a
second mission in the Stockholm, Sweden Temple with her husband from
1995-1996. She and her husband were currently serving a mission in the
Family Home Evening Program at the Utah State Prison. She had a tremendous
spirit, always striving to live a Christ-like life. Above all else, she was
devoted to her family. She demonstrated unconditional love to all who knew
her. She provided a loving, nurturing home for her husband and three
children. She enjoyed being a Grandmother to many children. Children were
drawn to her love and sense of innocence. She often returned to her homeland
to be with her brothers and sister and their children. She always saw the
best in everyone she met. Caring and compassion ruled her lifetime. She is
survived by her husband, daughter Diane (Manford) Gooch, sons Robert (Katie)
Pruhs, Alan (Marne) Pruhs, eight granddaughters, one grandson, as well as
many nieces, nephews and their families in Norway. She was preceded in death
by her parents, brothers Trygve (Elfi), Kaare (Elin), sister Signe (Odd) and
her dearest niece Kjersti. Funeral services are to be held at noon on Sat.,
January 24th at the Winder 5th Ward, located at 1361 E. 4000 S. A viewing
will be held on Friday, January 23rd from 6-8 p.m. at the Larkin Sunset Lawn
funeral home at 2350 E. 1300 S. and one hour prior to the funeral services
at the ward.
